"At the age of 2, after not meeting developmental milestones, Faith was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease - a disease in which the cells in her body do not produce the energy her body needs for basic function.  She has always had low muscle tone and has had many therapies to help her body do some very basic things.  If you've spent much time around Faith, it won't take long for her to put a smile on your face!  She is simply the sweetest!

On March 22nd, Faith had her first seizures which landed her in the hospital followed by a lifeline flight to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.  She was released about a week later, but within a week, she was back at Riley.  She remained in the hospital for 2 more months where she had little relief from severe dystonia and muscle spasms that she had never experienced before.  Faith underwent four neuro surgeries in an attempt to bring relief from the constant pain.  The doctors were able to relieve Faith’s pain and severe dystonia and she is now recovering at home.  Unfortunately, she is currently unable to voluntarily move her muscles (no big smiles yet), and her road to recovery from this episode will be long and slow.  Prayers for her sweet smile to return would be greatly appreciated!"
